When I decided to buy a house, I chose an older home because I wanted to fix it up to make it my own. I knew I would need many do it yourself tips and friends to volunteer to help from time to time. Being a woman everyone told me not to do this and to just buy a home already done and perfect. But to me that was so boring.
One of my first projects was my kitchen floor, I needed a new one. So I began looking into how exactly to lay a new subfloor. After much research I realized it would not be to terribly difficult. I went to the lumber yard and bought all the wood and supplies. I went home and started measuring and cutting. I got ready to lay the first board and nail the first nail and BAM I hit my thumb! Getting in the car I went to the local ER only to find out my first attempt at remodeling landed me with a broken thumb! So, before I get started I get to take a break.
